MTP是高密度光纤预连接系统，一般用于三个领域。
北亿纤通光纤的 MTP 光纤跳线符合 IEC-61754-7 和 TIA-604-5(FOCIS-5) 标准。 它可广泛用于
10G upgrade to 40G/100G data center.
上述应用适用于将 QSFP+ 端口直接连接到 (4)SFP+ 端口的 MTP-LC 线束。 在许多现有的直流环境中，LC-MTP 电缆用于支持交换机、机架配线架和主配线面板 (MDA) 之间的高密度光纤干线。
以上是光纤 MTP-LC 组件，一端使用无针连接器与 Cisco Nexus 6000 系列上的 QSFP 端口连接，另一端包含四个 LC uniboot 连接器，提供与交换机上的 SFP+ 端口的连接 组件的极性将来自MTP连接器的光纤从外向内配对；因此，光纤1和光纤12是双工对，光纤2和光纤11也是如此。
MTP一词是US Conec的注册商标，在欧美地区已成为主流趋势。
